"'Too Wide' - Lewis and Bellew React to Fury's Defeat Against Usyk"

Oleksandr Usyk has won all 23 of his fights as a professional boxer

Former world champions Lennox Lewis, Tony Bellew, and Anthony Crolla were among those reacting to Oleksandr Usyk's unanimous decision victory over Tyson Fury.

The Ukrainian fighter secured a decisive win in their rematch, following a contentious split-decision victory in their first bout in May 2024. This time, all three judges scored the fight in favor of the undefeated 37-year-old, stirring debate within the boxing community.

"I didn’t score it, but it was close. He should have picked up more rounds," former undisputed heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis told BBC Radio 5 Live.

Anthony Crolla shared a similar perspective, stating: "I have no issue with Usyk getting the win, but I thought it was very close. It wasn’t as wide as the judges had it."

Tony Bellew, another former world champion, echoed their sentiments. Reflecting on the fight, Bellew, who was stopped by Usyk in 2018, wrote on X: "Too wide, but I did have him winning.

"It’s the pressure and consistency of his work rate that secures him rounds. Tyson Fury is a true warrior who deserves immense respect for stepping back into the ring with him."
