CES 2025 Trends: What to Watch For
At CES 2024, we witnessed the emergence of exciting tech trends, from transparent displays to innovative off-grid home solutions. Now, as CES 2025 approaches, we’re eager to see how those trends have evolved over the past year and to uncover the new innovations set to define 2025. Here are the themes we expect to take center stage.
AI and Its Agents
Artificial intelligence dominated CES 2024, showcasing both groundbreaking advancements and plenty of overhyped promises. For CES 2025, we’ll be focusing on products that demonstrate clear, practical applications of AI—moving beyond buzzwords on spec sheets to deliver real value.
One of the most anticipated topics is "agentic AI," which aims to put smart assistants at the heart of device interfaces. This concept, teased by major tech companies and the subject of ongoing experiments, has the potential to reshape how we interact with technology—possibly even replacing traditional apps. However, it remains to be seen if this vision will finally come to life in a way that feels compelling and functional.
Standalone AI devices may surprise us again, as they did at CES 2024 with the Rabbit R1 and the Humane AI Pin—though these products ultimately fell short of their initial promise. More likely, we’ll see AI seamlessly integrated into everyday devices, from TVs and smartphones to snowblowers and even toothbrushes.
CES 2025 promises to build on last year’s breakthroughs while exploring new frontiers in technology. Stay tuned as we dive into the trends shaping the future.

AI Integration Expands
Last year introduced us to Copilot Plus PCs featuring dedicated AI buttons, and this year, the trend is set to grow. Samsung continues its “screens everywhere” approach, embedding AI into a variety of household appliances, including its latest washer, dryer, and wall oven. Meanwhile, LG is pushing boundaries by incorporating AI sensing technology into cars, designed to “detect and respond to the needs of vehicle occupants while optimizing cabin conditions.”
Next-Generation Chips
While CES is a stage for groundbreaking innovations, it’s also where we see the next iterations of familiar technology. These advancements rely heavily on chipmakers, whose designs drive performance and efficiency in the devices we use daily.
This year, both Nvidia and AMD are expected to debut new chips, with their industry partners unveiling devices powered by these cutting-edge technologies.
-
Nvidia: CEO Jensen Huang will deliver the keynote address, where announcements about the company’s next-generation CPUs and GPUs are anticipated. Gamers have plenty to look forward to, as Nvidia has already teased its GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs, with leaks hinting at integration in Acer Predator Orion PCs. Expect announcements from brands like Acer, Asus, Razer, Lenovo, and Dell.
-
AMD: The company has confirmed the reveal of its RDNA 4 GPUs, promising a new wave of high-performance graphics solutions.
-
Qualcomm: While Qualcomm had its major product launch in October, it typically reserves a few surprises for CES, so expect some news from them as well.
CES 2025 is shaping up to showcase how AI and chip technology are driving innovation, from smart appliances to gaming laptops and beyond. Stay tuned for updates as the show unfolds.
Car Tech Takes Center Stage at CES 2025
Over the past decade, automotive innovation has steadily claimed the spotlight at CES, with electric vehicles (EVs) leading the charge as one of tech's hottest categories. CES 2025 is set to feature the latest advancements in futuristic EVs and groundbreaking transportation concepts.
Top automakers will once again take the stage, unveiling cutting-edge technologies and sleek new vehicles. Hyundai is introducing the world’s first full-windshield holographic display, extending seamlessly from the driver’s seat to the front passenger seat. BMW will debut its Panoramic iDrive display, while Honda plans to reveal two sleek prototype 0 Series electric vehicles.
Traditional tech giants are also vying for a piece of the automotive market. Sony is rumored to showcase the Sony-Honda Afeela car, equipped with a built-in PS5, blending gaming and mobility in a single package.
Powering much of this next-generation car tech are chipmakers like Qualcomm, which is expected to announce updates to its automotive technologies at the show.
On the mobility front, autonomous vehicle leader Waymo will deliver an exclusive keynote, sharing insights on its vision for the future, following the company’s recent announcement of its international expansion into Tokyo.
With exciting innovations on display, CES 2025 will solidify the growing role of car tech in shaping the future of transportation.
CNET’s Expert Predictions for CES 2025
A team of CNET’s seasoned tech experts will be on the ground in Las Vegas, ready to explore the weird, wacky, and wonderful innovations of CES 2025. With years of experience covering the event, they’re heading into the show with high expectations. Here’s what some of them predict:
David Katzmaier — Editorial Director, Personal Tech
Having reviewed TVs for over 20 years, CES is like the Super Bowl of screens for me. At CES 2025, I expect to see even bigger TVs, likely surpassing last year’s 115-inch TCL. I’m particularly excited about the wacky, bleeding-edge concepts that blend cool with practicality—like LG's Transparent TV and C-Seed's $200K folding Micro-LED TV. CES is also where I discover new, nerd-worthy display tech that surprises even a seasoned reviewer, such as rollable TVs, flip phones, electroluminescent quantum dots, cutting-edge VR, and even displays within contact lenses. I can’t wait for CES 2025 to blow my mind with some unexpected future TV tech!
Lisa Eadiccico — Senior Editor, Mobile
This will be my seventh CES, and as usual, I’m expecting a showcase of wild concepts like flexible phone screens and innovative wearables that measure health in new ways. But I’m most intrigued by how AI will continue to dominate the show. After its buzzworthy presence in 2024, AI will be even more integrated into everything from mobile devices to cars and home robots. The challenge will be cutting through the hype to uncover products that truly leverage AI to enhance functionality—not just use the buzzword for marketing.
Eli Blumenthal — Senior Editor, Mobile
I’ve lost track of how many CES shows I’ve attende
d, but each one is filled with crazy concepts that often won’t become available to consumers (at least not soon or affordably). Last year, we saw ideas like a color-changing BMW and Hyundai’s electric air taxi, alongside rollable and transparent micro-LED screens from Samsung. While these concepts weren’t ready for 2024, they provide a glimpse into the future of tech. I expect CES 2025 will offer more of the same—crazy concept cars, larger and higher-quality rollable/foldable displays, and an abundance of products incorporating acronyms like AI, AR, and VR.
CES 2025 is set to offer a mix of visionary concepts, emerging technologies, and real-world innovations. Our team can’t wait to see what the future holds!
